Hi, I'm Ashley Summers - Chicago Photographer

Life’s too short for boring pictures - experience my playful approach

I believe that every family deserves to have pictures that document moments in time that pass all to quickly. I have made it my personal passion to capture a family's essence in a fun, interactive way.

Lifestyle photography is a big term but I think it comes down to taking pictures full of meaning and true emotion. During family sessions I love to capture the silly looks, the smirk or even a pout. During a branding session with me you will feel relaxed and at ease as I gently guide you to help bring out true personality in your photos. I specialize in working with kids as I have two little ones of my own. I love interacting with them, goofing around, and letting them be themselves. My approach is to have fun without the pressure to perform or smile perfectly (but don't worry, I always get those shots too). I have many tricks up my sleeves to bring out the giggles and smiles in everyone, no matter the age. I have a theory that adults that are reluctant to get their photos taken are very similar to the toddlers I shoot so the same tricks tend to work on both.

Personally, I get plenty of practice shooting lifestyle at home with my two amazing kids, Diem (9) and Oakley (7). I'm a Chicagoland native and moved back to the area after extensively traveling with my ride or die hubby, Jason. BK (before kids) I spent two years trekking & taking pictures around the globe after working in the non-profit world after college. I have a degree in Therapeutic Recreation (I still hold my CTRS for those who care) that I use during each session. I literally studied how to take any person/group through an experience and have it match their level of ability so it directly applies to photography. I believe in curating each session to fit the needs of my clients and then have a blast executing it.
